Sincere.

Although incredibly talented, Davina is so down to earth.
It's like I am hanging out with family. And don't we all want to be with family on the most important days of our lives?

Talented.
Watch her videos - her work needs no explanation. Wow!

Dedicated.
I first shot with Davina over three years ago. In fact, it was the day before I proposed to Danielle, now my wife. I remember being awestruck by how hard she works. It was like she was shooting her own wedding and didn't want to miss a thing. Little did I know that was only the tip of the iceberg. I've later come to understand the late nights involved, the 'whatever-it-takes' attitude in all she does and her loyalty to her clients.

These are the type of videos I absolutely love producing.
Why is that? Because I get to really know who I am presenting. I have to.
It is up to me to discover the connection between the world and them.
With Davina it was easy.

We spent one afternoon just hanging out with her and the kids. We sang, drew with chalk on the driveway, colored pictures, read stories, ran around the house and went for a walk in the nearby fields.
Davina's children are all so incredibly beautiful and full of light.

Then we spent one other evening at the park with the entire family; rolling down hills, playing on the slides and just having fun.
I brought along my 8mm film camera and had them film each other. That is why I included an 8mm film look in the second portion of her video.

Davina wanted to focus on her "I have a picture of that" philosophy. I had Davina narrate the video, but then decided to go with just text. This keeps the energy of the music going and leaves more to one's own imagination of the events presented.

On Davina's photo montage, the hardest decision was which song to use. Davina ended up choosing Mercy Me: I Can Only Imagine.
I could listen to that song over and over (and I have!). Very applicable to Davina because it reflects the devotion and power of her pictures.

Lindsay

We just got done editing Lindsay's Bridal and I really had fun with this.
I decided to try a few new ideas here. Lindsay chose a song that was high energy and a lot of fun, so I brought along a portable CD player and played the music on repeat while we were filming. This made it fun for everyone and brought out Lindsays spunky side.
She even broke out into song a few times, so I included a few of those shots on the video.
You will notice one shot where Lindsay is twirling around a lamp post. I captured that effect by running around the pole with her at the same time. Pretty difficult since you have to run twice as fast, but I really liked the effect.
Another fun effect is Lindsay looking at the camera while she is spinning. I had her hold the camera, pointing at herself, while she was spinning around.
One difficult choice was how to cut my edits once the singing started on the song. I chose to stick to the beats rather than the lyrics. Tell me what you think.

Her fiance, Dave, came along and had a few dance moves as well. The scene where he is dancing, I shot from the reflection in the window. He didn't know I was filming, which made it even better.
You might wonder about the Red Bull drinks - Lindsay is a rep for Red Bull so we had to throw that in there.
My favorite shot is where I start with Lindsay on the ledge, then pan away and up the wall. Litte bit harder to capture, but love the look.
