2007 DEMO

I just completed a rough copy of my 2007 Demo.
I haven't done this before, but I added a one minute clip at the end of the demo just about Creative Date videos.
What's a Creative Date Video?
I will go hang out with the couple and just have fun and show their personality. It adds another dimension to their wedding video and I have found that the grooms really get into this.
What do you think about the music (especially the date video section).
How about the length?
At the beginning of the demo, I have some of the cities listed where I have filmed. Is that too much too fast?
Any other feedback at all would be great!
Thanks!

I really like the date in Las Vegas - can I see more clips of that? I do like the music for the date video part. Looks like fun!
I would like to see a transition from the spiritual part to the date part.
Maybe cut out a bit of what the dark haired bride says, e.g. "I've arrived", as she seemed a bit cheesy.
Overall, love your work!

I really love your demos. I accidentally found your site, and now I check it often to see what's new. Anyway...the new demo...the places are too fast. I don't really think you need to put the names of the places, takes away from the video. The date part was nice. Great job!

The interview is too long and I don't like the song so much on the interview part. Date video part is really great - good variety and amazing shots. Maybe switch up the brides more on the beginning. More variety.
BUT AWESOME!

Hey Mr. DPF,
I love your work and I know brides who love your work.
The pacing on the demo could be tightened.
I like that you show all of the places you've filmed. I feel it builds potential client confidence and I think that part of your demo flows well.
I also like the tail end about your new date videos.
The interview in the middle, though very touching, sincere, and heartful, feels too long for full inclusion in your demo and I would have to agree that some girls may find it a tad cheesey. I would suggest shortening it and then having the dialog run under other past bride's footage as well as the interviewing couple.
There's some kind of disconnect for me with the fast paced beginning and end having such a long, slow paced piece in between. I would either slow down the endcaps a bit or speed up the middle.
You do amazing work. I'll always be a fan.
PS - My son named me 'the filmer' after his friends asked him what his dad does.

Great feedback guys. I have also received feedback to my email as well and I keep hearing that the interview bit is a too long and not flowing with the intro and ending shots.
I'll work on this and post something new.
Please tell me anything else you would like to see,
David

Hi David. I can see that you have put a lot of work into you dvd's
coupled with many camera techniques which many have yet to learn.Wedding videos need to be intresting and should always flow from start to finish without getting bogged down somewhere along the way. Some clients will prefer a softer approach which you have shown in your blogger, others a faster paced movie, and yes I agree that the sound bytes do need to be either shortened or even removed from demo as thet are slowing down the pace and getting rather personal.By all means add location titles as this will instruct the client as to where you will travel to work for them. You are doing some great work David so keep it up, as I look to guys like you take the industry standard to the heights they deserve.

Thanks Fred,
You are very generous with your comments. I think I will leave the text on the locations I film, even if it is a little distracting, because it gives me more credibility and out of state brides do contact me because of this.
I'll try and dig up something that is more fast paced and not wedding related.. I'm thinking of a river trip I filmed a few years back that has an intro to Nickelback... Yeah, I'll put that up next week when I get back from filming in San Diego.
Thanks again for the feedback.

Hey David! I had some down time at work and thought I'd see if there was anything new you had been up to since doing our wedding. I do agree with everyone else about the interview. It was a little long but I liked seeing all the temples. I've seen a lot of other demos and most stick to the standard temples-Salt Lake, Timpanogos, Manti, Jordan River, and it's nice to see all the places that you have filmed. It would be especially appealing to brides looking at your demo from out of state. It's also fun to see the creative date part because the date and the bridal were the most fun for us because we really got to let our personalities shine. Plus, you're a pretty fun guy to hang out with :)! As far as anything else I'd like to see- how about some clips of us? Aren't we fun people? Totally kidding. We love our wedding video, my mom watches it at least every Sunday and my Grandpa actually requested watching it before he passed away. Thank you for preserving our precious memories! We are so lucky we had you as our videographer! And Jared, Mr. "I Don't Believe In Wedding Videos" likes to play it for our friends! He loves it. Thanks again and keep it up!

Jennifer,
Thank you so much for your comments. I was very touched with your Grandfather's request.
I guess if I can win Jared over to wedding videos I am doing pretty good!
Yes! You two were a total party - I'll see about getting some clips from your date in their as well.
Thanks again and God Bless!
David
